Before and After School Care
The Galley is the before and after school care program held Kirkland Elementary. This convenient program is affordable and offers a fully trained staff and excellent care for children in grades PreK-2nd. Daily activities include outdoor play, computer lab, gym, board games and crafts and activities, and snacks are included each day as well. There will also be time set aside for students to do their homework.
The Galley will only be open on school days. You will be charged for care on those days.
The school must have a registration form completed for each child in order for your child (ren) to attend the Galley. All information including phone numbers, address, and emergency contacts need to be current and up to date at all times.
In case of severe injury or acute illness, 911 will be called and the parent/guardian will be notified immediately. Anyone with reason to suspect emotional, physical, sexual abuse, or neglect is obligated by law to contact the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-522-3511. The Galley is designed for the child’s continued comfort, with the child’s individual needs and safety as a priority.
We accept cash, checks, or money orders payable to D. D. Kirkland. The weekly rate is $50, plus there is a $20 registration fee. Drop-ins are $12 per day. Your weekly tuition must be paid by Monday.
The Galley is open from 7a.m to 8 a.m. before school and for PreK 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. K to 2nd Grade 3:30 to 6 p.m. after school. Families picking up their child after 6 p.m. will be charged $5 per minute.
The charge for returned checks is $25. After a returned check, only money orders and cash will be accepted. A child cannot participate if a returned check has not been taken care of within five days. If necessary, returned checks will be turned over to the Putnam City Schools business office, which will turn them over to the District Attorney’s office for collection. Guidance and Discipline
The Galley agrees to provide a safe, fun program for students who need before and after school care. All Kirkland school and district policies will be followed during The Galley hours. The Galley reserves the right to refuse services to any child who is unable to cooperate with staff and/or other students or who is destructive to property.
