Cougar Chours – Shellie Thompson
This singing group is the public relations for Coronado. The Cougar Chorus members are fifth grade students that 1) love to sing and share their talents, 2) will be regular in attendance, and 3) will provide their concert outfit. The Chorus performs for the community, district, and school throughout the year. There are approximately ten concerts each year. Rehearsal begins in September and is held before school. Singing in this chorus reinforces the music skills of reading the language of music, making harmony, and practicing their performance skills.

Writers’ Club Steph Tester
One student from each class in third grade through fifth grade is chosen by his/her teacher to attend Writers’ Club that month. Students bring an example of their writing to share with the group. The student reads his/her writing and the other students give feedback. The students enjoy pizza and soda and take home a journal to encourage their writing. This club usually meets the third Thursday of the month from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm.
